Tiles

I am finishing up some last minute gifts.  These are 6 x8 tiles.

I used outdoor vinyl for both.  I added stickles (glitter glue) to the Hello Kitty tile for some sparkle.

Glitter Ornaments

Here are a few more glitter ornaments.  Just a note-I discovered my roll of painters tape hold the ornament great for applying vinyl!!!!

Rectangle box-2 versions

My mother-in-law needed 18 boxes for some little gifts, so I put these together for her.  There are 2 versions-a plain box and one with a decorative flap with holes for ribbon.  The small box is the size she needed, (fits 8 1/2 x 11 paper) the larger is a full sheet of 12 x 12 paper.

assembly tip-I staple the end flaps.  It's quick and easy and holds well.  Then just fold the outside flap up and adhere to hide your staple.  I put these together very quickly.  A nice ribbon bow will dress them up:0)

Wedding Card

My daughter-in-law's sister is getting married today.  The colors are navy and silver, with snowflakes.  Here is the card I made.  I put it together yesterday afternoon, last minute as usual.  But I actually love how it turned out.  The pictures aren't very good.  I didn't take the time (who has any right now?!!!) to get my lightbox out, and it is a dark morning here.  The paper looks black, but it is a sparkly navy.

paper ribbons

I

I saw this idea here a long time ago.
I finally played around with it today.  I thought it would be easy to do in scal 2, but I couldn't figure it out.  I was pretty sure it could be done in inkscape, so I emailed  Penny Duncan for help.  (Her work is AMAZING, if you aren't familiar with her)  As always, she patiently walked me through the steps.  This is just a test cut, but I have several ideas for this technique.  They will have to wait until after the Holidays though!!!
I do have a scal 2 file and an svg file available for this.

Garage Door Vinyl

My friends son comes home tomorrow for the first time since he joined the Air Force.  He's been gone 6 months.  She asked me to put words on the garage door for her.  I just finished it-it was so cold!!!!!!!!!!  I was afraid the vinyl wouldn't stick, but it seems fine.  Sorry for the shadowy picture-it was dark by the time I finished.  I know it isn't centered the best but we wanted the logo centered on a rectangle, and it was too cold to measure!!!!!!

Candy Cane tags

I made 200 of these.  After our Children's Christmas Program at church, it is a tradition to hand out candy canes to everyone.  We like to add a quick and easy tag just to dress them up a little.  I'm tired of spending hours tying bows for something that will just be thrown out, so I made these tags so they just slip right over the candy cane.  Sorry I had to use a pen, I don't have the candy canes here at the moment and I wanted to get this posted!!!!

I cut the scalloped circles with scal2 & my cricut, made the circular text tags in word and punched them with a 2" punch.  I added adhesive above and below the slits, added the white tag, and put white gel pen dots on the scallops.

Petal Top Box-glitter ornaments fit!!!!

My daughters received gift cards in these Victoria's Secret boxes for Christmas either last year or the year before-I can't remember!!!  I was of course, intrigued by the box so I stuck it away in my stash of project ideas.  I did a file a long time ago, but didn't have the score layer quite right.  I worked on the file a few weeks ago, and with the updates to scal in the last year, was able to finish the score lines.

While I was assembling the box to take a photo it dawned on me that the popular glitter ornaments would probably fit in this box.  I tried it and they fit perfectly.  I've included an insert for the box to hold the ornament.  Even the larger ornaments fit (the ones that come 4 to a box, not 6) without the insert.

I also have a file for a shorter box.  You can get 2 small boxes on a 12 x 12 page.

The scal 2 file has only 2 layers-the cut layer and the score layer.  The svg file has several score layers.  For some reason when I export it as an svg, each score line gets its own layer.  You just have to turn more layers on and off.  Sorry!

Christmas mirror

It was time to change the Thanksgiving images(previous post) out for Christmas.  (I used glass etch vinyl.  The font is Notnorval hmk bold))  Now that I'm done and look at it, I wish I would have made the ornaments smaller.  Oh well. it's only up for a few weeks.  I'll remember that next time!!!!
