Petal Top Box-glitter ornaments fit!!!!

My daughters received gift cards in these Victoria's Secret boxes for Christmas either last year or the year before-I can't remember!!!  I was of course, intrigued by the box so I stuck it away in my stash of project ideas.  I did a file a long time ago, but didn't have the score layer quite right.  I worked on the file a few weeks ago, and with the updates to scal in the last year, was able to finish the score lines.

While I was assembling the box to take a photo it dawned on me that the popular glitter ornaments would probably fit in this box.  I tried it and they fit perfectly.  I've included an insert for the box to hold the ornament.  Even the larger ornaments fit (the ones that come 4 to a box, not 6) without the insert.

I also have a file for a shorter box.  You can get 2 small boxes on a 12 x 12 page.

The scal 2 file has only 2 layers-the cut layer and the score layer.  The svg file has several score layers.  For some reason when I export it as an svg, each score line gets its own layer.  You just have to turn more layers on and off.  Sorry!

I did the exact same thing with the box I received last year...I even asked the sales clerk for a few more of the boxes when I went to redeem my gift card. Unfortunately I haven't done anything with it yet and I don't have SCAL...if anyone does a Gypsy/DS file for this I would love it!!

I LOVE this box but dont have SCAL. Do you have it for DS? I would love to have one so I can make them for the ornaments I am making for teachers. Would you mind emailing me back and letting me know? Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us.

Thank you for sharing the file. I recently made a trip to Micheal's and they had some small ones on Christmas clearance. I bought them with the hopes of converting them to Make The Cut, LOL. Appreciate the work and time that went into this.

Love your blog.

tried cutting this out but it cut all the lines instead of just scoring them. How to I fix it?
thanks

Denise Hill said...

If it cut all the lines, you didn't have the correct layers turned on for cutting, then off for scoring. I have a video on using the layers and scoring, maybe it will help if you watch that. I have a video button at the top of my blog.

I love your Blog. You are so creative. I especially love the Pedal Top Box but I am having trouble figuring out how to put it together. Do you have a video with assembly instructions?

This video shows another petal top box. There are fewer petals, but it is done the same way. Hope it helps
