Gable Boxes

I have always loved the Tim Horton's gable boxes.  I finally took one apart and made a file.  Actually, 2 files.  The mini box will fit 2 to a 12 x 12 page.  For the large box, click the keep proportions box and drag it as large as you want.  Then you will need to cut 2 pages and attach them along the edge with the tab.   The minis (as I have them sized) are about 3 1/2 by 2.  My large box is about 5 x 3, but it could be made quite a bit larger.  The little ones will be perfect for valentine treats, and they are so simple!

Yes, I know the date on my camera is wrong!!!!! :0)

Max,
The mini box will fit on a 12 x 6 mat. You will need one of the scal programs or make the cut as it is an svg file.

Denise,

Thanks for sharing, I love this box, when I open it though, it is tiny and it has a big space at the bottom.... am I doing something wrong? I even tried bringing it in as 12" and it does the same thing.

Denise... nevermind about the import problem, I changed to using SCAL2 and it worked fine! I am getting ready to cut now!

I cut the mini out! I think I scored it right... but it is not as cute as yours! Are you going to make a video on this one? Or can you cut one out of plain paper then draw the lines in dark where you scor them? This box is cute!

Denise...thank you so much for this file. I've made a few boxes in Coral Draw and would like to convert them to svg files so I can cut them but haven't figured out how yet..still working on it. I made 100 of these boxes (Gable) for my daughters wedding. I need to post an image of them on my blog for all to see...this was 5 years ago..before the Cricut and they were all cut by me by hand. My hands ached for days afterwards. I'm anxious to give this file a try.

Hi Denise,
I was watching the video for one of your amazing boxes, and I heard you mention you print your own paper...I am very interested in that. Where do you get the digital paper files that you mention. Thanks!

Hi Denise, I enjoy your blog and you sharing your projects. You are a very creative person! I am new to this Cricut-thing, though, and wonder how to save/open an svg file. When I try to save it, it opens in MS Picture Manager as a little tiny picture of the icon - no project. Can you help me with this? Can I save/open this in another program? Thanks! Bridget E.

Bridget,
Go to my "videos" (its under my header). There is a video explaining how to open downloaded files. If that doesn't help, send me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do. I download the file, make sure I remember what folder I put it in, open scal, then depending on if it is a scut file, click open, find the file, select, open. If it is an svg, click import, find the file, select, open.
