Ribbon Holder made from foam core board

I saw a ribbon holder like this on a blog, but could not find any directions or dimensions for it.  A few years ago I had made an ink pad holder out of foam core, so I knew it would work.  I bought some foam core board from walmart, and went to work.  My husband offered to do it for me, but he has already spent so much time on my room I hated to have him do this too.  I am pleased with how it came out, and I only used 3 sheets of foam core. (they were $2.86 each at walmart)  I did make a few mistakes, so I wasted a little of the board.  Only problem is, this one is completely full already, so I need another one!  I guess I better get busy lol

Do you have instructions and dimensions for this project because I would like to see how you made it and might make one for me.

Thanks!

Wow this looks awesome! what did you use to glue the boards together at the various joints?

I used hot glue to hold it all together. It is very sturdy. I need to make another one, so I'll take pictures as I go and write up a tutorial.

LOVE this! A tutorial would be wonderful! I purchased a ribbon holder on a Black Friday sale for like $8 (reg $30 so I thought I was getting a great deal) but ohhhh it is a pain to use, considering it is just dowels and unless I want to pin up each ribbon, it al falls down over the rows below it. You did a GREAT job on this!!!

I have been wanting to make an ink pad holder from foam board. I have directions. How is your holding up? Is it strong enough to last for some time?

You're quite the little builder, aren't you ;) ?????!!!!! I see everyone else has been asking for instructions so I'll just say "Thank You" for offering to share instructions/video in the future. Your room is looking great!!!

I'm looking forward to your step by step instructions at a later date! Awesome job on this. Nichole Heady at Papertrey Ink made a wood holder (and provided instructions), but it looks a lot more complicated and expensive. Thanks for sharing this idea!

I am working on a tutorial. Not sure if it will be a video or a written one yet. A video may be a challenge because it is such a large project!
Hopefully will get it posted tomorrow or Tuesday.

Seems like foam core sheets and boards are not only for mounting pictures. They can be made into ribbon holders as well!

Wow!! What a wonderful creation and tutorial! Do you by any chance have a picture of and/or directions for how you made the foam core ink pad holder? I'd love to see that one also. I know this is an old post, but I'm so happy that I found your blog. And can't wait to have time to look around it more. I think my next "craft" purchase is going to be some foam core board!! LOL!! I've got to try your ribbon holder!! Thanks so much for sharing the idea!!

Oops, forgot to leave you my contact info in case you have a pic or tutorial for the ink pad holder. It is cocrafter at gmail.com

I truly hope I hear from you. I'd love to make the ink pad holder and I've been searching Google for a good one with directions, but so far have not found anything.
