split a letter with scal 2 video

There have been a lot of questions on how to split a letter in scal2.  I hope this helps!

I have SCAL 2, but mine looks different. I don't have anything that says PATH or text at the top... am i doing something wrong??

I dont know if i am doing something wrong, or i don't have a correct view/layout on my SCAL 2 program, but i don't have a tab that says layer or text!!! Can you help me????
