Graduation Cards

I don't know about you, but we have had a lot of grad parties to attend this year!  We have one more this weekend, then I think we are done.  Here are a couple of quick cards.

Creative Inspirations Paints

Our challenge this week was to use the paint on acrylic or acetate.  I found this challenging since I cannot freehand paint anything!  I ended up stamping my image on the acrylic frame and heat embossed it. Then I just filled in my image with the paint.

My daughter, who graduates in a couple of weeks, had an end of the

year AP Biology project. Each year the members of the class pick a bird and do

a large project on it. When they are done they line the main hallway of the

high school with booths and invite the students from all grades to walk though

their exhibits. Of course my daughter had to pick and ostrich, AND she HAD to

make it life sized!!!!! So we have been doing this for the past few days, along

with my son's wedding which was Saturday. It has been crazy. I posted it

because she did use the paints, and they were on a clear surface. I just wanted

to show that there are many uses for the paints!!! The ostrich eyes are small,

clear vanity light bulbs. She painted them with chocolate and black onyx, and

covered them with crystal effects. They really came out great, as did the rest

of the 6ft bird!!!

Creative Inspirations Paints

Our challenge this week at Creative Inspirations Paints was to go 3-D.  I made a dry eraes tile.  The black is vinyl, and I filled in the shapes with creative inspirations paints.  I love how it turned out, however I am not sure how well the paint will hold up on the tile.  I wouldn't put the tile where anything would rub up against it.  It should be fine on my craft room wall though!

Creative Inspirations Paints Challenge

Our challenge this week was to color our embellishments with the paints.  I colored my white grossgrain ribbon yellow, and dipped my office brads in turquoise paint.  I apologise for the poor photos.  I'm home without a camera and had to use my cell phone.  Hop over to the blog to see the other fabulous creations!!!!!

Creative Inspirations Paints sketch challenge

We had a sketch challenge at Creative Inspirations Paints this week, and this was what I came up with.  I LOVE these paints!!!!  I printed the digital image 3 times so I could layer it.  The top layer is just the flowers.  I used paints that matched the flower colors in the image to paint  them.  Then I went over everything with the fairy dust paint.  This has proved to be my favorite so far!!!!!  It just adds shimmer, no color, so you can use it over any color.  Head over to the blog to see what the other designers came up with!!!

Creative Inspirations Paints

The new design team posts are up at Creative Inspiration Paints.  The challenge this week was a colr challenge using green, lavender and yellow.  For my card I cut the flowers with my cricut, left all the paper on the mat, painted over them and let them dry.  Then I just peeled up my cuts.  No mess painting!  It worked great.  I just love the shimmer of thes paints.  Photos just don't pick up all the shimmer.  Head over to the blog to check out the fabulous projects from the other design team members.  They amaze me!!!

Creative Inspirations Paints

I finally got a chance to play with my new Creative Inspirations Paints..  I just made a couple of simple cards.  I wish you could see all the shimmer-it's hard to capture it with a camera. They have 55 amazing colors! On thefirst card I used fuschia and citrus on the lollipops, fuschia on the brads and sentiment dots.  I then covered them with crystal accents.

The colors are right in this photo. They are off in the next, but I was trying to pick up more of the shimmer. The brad and the scallops are painted, and then I made a "glimmer mist" with the fairy dust paint and sprayed the whole thing.
