Cake in a box svg file

I had several people volunteer to test cut my cake in a box svg file.  Staci McDonough (click here for her blog) sent me this picture of her fabulous creation.  The file seems to be good, so I will post a link for it.  Thank you everyone for your help.  It is appreciated.  If you made one I would love to see pictures, and will gladly link to your blog!
download svg file

NOTE:  This file uses the layers box.  You need to shut the score layers off while you cut, and the cut layers off while you score!  My pillow box favor post has a video explaining this.  Please watch the video to ensure your success with this file.  I would hate for you to waste paper!!!!

Here is the link for the score line instructions- how to use the layers box for score lines

  2. Oh thank you so much for sharing. Just a small question though. I have just started using MTC and wondered how I shut off the score lines or do I just open it up and press cut - sorry if it is a bit of a silly question, still trying to learn MTC.

  3. Max,
I use scal 2 and am not familiar with mtc-sorry! I have a video (pillowbox explanation) that explains how to do it in scal. I would think mtc also has a layers box of some sort. Sorry I can't help!

  4. can you link us to the video explaining the score lines, I found the pillow box favor post from Jan 15th but the only video is the assembly one w/ the great tip about the tape and glitter (thank you very much for that one,I will be using it often) Very elegant favors as well!

  6. Denise this is GREAT! I would love to make one. I hope I'm not missing something, but where's the box that the cake goes in???

  7. Victoria,
There isn't a file for the box because it uses a full 12 x 12 sheet, which you can't do with the cricut. I have a video explaining how to make it in a earlier post, or look in the videos on the left sidebar.

  13. Sorry Jan!
I did see your easter basket ?, but didn't have time to respond then. I meant to get back to it but totally forgot!!!
What exactly are you looking for? A box with a handle, or more of a traditionally shaped basket?

  14. basket with handle if possible, as large as you can on a 12x12 mat, svg would be fine to that way I can resz if I want.

  19. Thank you so much for taking time out from your day to make all these wonderful files and video. I just downloaded the pop cake box and have already made 3. They are so much fun and to see the look of suprise on the recipients face when they open it makes it even better! Even my hub thinks the pop cake boxes are awesome and he's a guy.

  20. Love this :)
When I open this file in SCAL, the longest strip is 1.080" width and 12.955" length....I seem to remember in a video I watched that the longest strip was around 10"...
Is this just a problem with my SCAL opening it up larger than it should be? Thanks!

  21. Hi Jen.
    The longest should be .875 W x 10.37 L
Not sure why the size isn't accurate...
