Fast & Easy Super Bowl Party Invitations

We have a party every year. This year I'm not too excited about the Bowl, as I don't care for either team, so I decided on quick and easy invitations. I ended up really liking them. Maybe a lesson to be learned here????

Directions-
I cut the top layer of the football in brown (svg file) using my cricut and scal 2
Ran them through my cuttlebug with a fiskars "leather" texture plate
cut 2 white solid football shapes for each invitation.
Adhered the brown football to 1 white football
Did my text in print shop, sizing it to fit within my football shape.
Printed 2 on a sheet of cardstock.
Held that piece up to the light, and centered the white football shapes over the text and taped across the top edge with painters tape.
Ran it back through my printer to get the text onto the shapes.
Used a white brad to fasten the 2 pieces together.

Anyway, here is a game we (mostly hubby) made for our nieces and nephews for Christmas.

I am so pleased with how it turned out. I didn't take any real pictures-I forgot!!!
Here is a picture of one of the boards. There were two, both the same.
It was just so crazy here this Christmas. (good crazy)
I made matching corn bags, but didn't get pictures of them. They are just 6" squares....
This is all painted-no vinyl. I was afraid the vinyl wouldn't hold up. I made stencils with my cricut and contact paper.
Hubby did an excellent job :0) !!!!!!
My husband made a game for us while he was building, we just need to paint it.

Miami Dolphins shirt

I made this at the request of my friend's son. He is going to the game Sunday, here in Buffalo NY. This is all he plans to wear on his upper body, LOL!!!!

This file gave me fits. I found a free svg online, but couldn't get it to work right as it was. After way too long of fiddling with it, I cut it and it seemed to fit ok. As I ironed on each layer, they no longer lined up. I think it may because of the ribbing in the shirt. I think it changed the vinyl shape as it conformed to the fabric...argh!!! I had to cut the blue pieces by the tail and fudge it. He wont care, it isnt even a new shirt, but it bugs me.

Well, here it is! I am happy with how it looks. Now I just hope it tastes good!!!!!

The inside wasn't so pretty-LOL!!! But it tasted good, so that's all that matters.
There were 2 layers of fudge filling and one of mint chocolate chip.
I was trying out recipes, otherwise I wouldn't have combined the 2 fillings.
But they tasted fine together.

I know, I said I wouldn't buy any more provocraft products, but when the cricut cake went down to $57,
I could NOT pass it up-LOL!!!!!!!
I finally got a chance to play with it today, and am very pleased with my results.
Looking forward to playing with it some more.

I made these from wilton gumpaste. I rolled it very thin (less than 1/16") and placed my mat with the gumpaste on it in the freezer for about 20 minutes. I got nice, clean cuts.

These were a wilton frosting sheet. Not perfect, but I was cutting much smaller than they recommend. Nice clean cuts with this right from the package. No freezer.

I was playing with my air eraser, and a new alphabet file I've been working on. The mirror is only 4 1/2 x 4 1/2,
so it was a tricky weed!

This week is homecoming. Monday was twin day.6pm Sunday evening I am taking 3 girls to walmart to buy shirts. Get home, and they still need to figure out what they want on them lol. It actually only took a couple of hours from shopping to finish, so not too bad after all. I was not happy about the short notice, but love helping them with their projects.

They were triplets for twin day--go figure lol

Tim Horton's sucker bouquets

I helped my daughter-in-law make these last minute centerpieces for her Dad's 60th birthday party. He is a Tim Horton's fan, (understatement!!! LOL) so that's why the TH cups for containers. They came out cute, and everyone loved them.
People were walking around eating suckers all evening.

Etching with the Air Eraser

I finally got a chance to try out my Air Eraser. This was a salsa jar. I didn't get the etching as smooth as I would have liked, because I don't have a cabinet yet and I was making a mess. It etches the glass well, and it is a much finer spray than I expected, which gives more control.

I will be making a cabinet soon though, because it is messy!

It felt good to play with paper-it's been a while!!!! My daughter and I spent way too much time making these cards for her boyfriends birthday, but we had a great time doing it. The youth from several local churches are doing a production of the musical Godspell. At their first practice they each tie dyed their own t-shirt. I was asked to put the logo they designed on the shirts. It was the biggest htv project I have attempted so far. 25 shirts with a layered image. It took a while!!!!LOL

My daughter and 3 of her friends tie-dyed T-Shirts and asked me to put vinyl on them. They came up with the design & picked the colors and placement. I cut/weeded, and applied the vinyl. I think they came out great!

A friend of mine asked me to do the invitations for her little girl's 1st birthday. It is a candy shoppe theme. I did the text in printshop, then used "place image" to bring it into scal. I added the dotted frame in scal and used print and cut. The paper has a shimmer to it-really pretty in person. I made 32 of these, they went together quickly and were a lot of fun :0)

Cupcake Toppers

Angela from the smartbuygal.com message board is selling all sorts of acrylic shapes for crafting. (click here for more info ) These are cupcake toppers. I just printed images on cardstock, punched them with my 2" paper punch (which works perfectly) and adhered them with removable adhesive so I can use them again and again. I love these!!!

My daughter at Fine Arts

We won't know if she moves on to Nationals until tomorrow, but I am so proud of her. She did an amazing job :0)

I saw a ribbon holder like this on a blog, but could not find any directions or dimensions for it. A few years ago I had made an ink pad holder out of foam core, so I knew it would work. I bought some foam core board from walmart, and went to work. My husband offered to do it for me, but he has already spent so much time on my room I hated to have him do this too. I am pleased with how it came out, and I only used 3 sheets of foam core. (they were $2.86 each at walmart) I did make a few mistakes, so I wasted a little of the board. Only problem is, this one is completely full already, so I need another one! I guess I better get busy lol

My husband built me these shelves over the weekend. Aren't they great? I still need to figure out what I'm going to
put on them. I just threw empty baskets up there for now. My craft room is making progress!!!

The open area is for filming videos and setting up my light box.

I know I haven't been posting much lately. Two weeks ago I went to Maryland on an overnight business trip with my husband, spur of the moment. On our way home we received word that there was an unexpected death in our family.

The funeral wasn't until this past Friday, so things have not been on the regular schedule.

Hopefully things will settle back to normal now :0)

My church's Western Section Spring Rally is this Saturday in Buffalo. My Pastor's wife is the section rep, so a lot of the preparation has been done by our church. The theme is "make His praise Gorious". Here is what I have been up to lately :0) Now I just need to finish
up the T-shirts!

Two couples I know who are friends, both had baby boys over the summer, and their names both start with "G". The dads are hunting buddies and always joke that the boys will one day run their own hunting store- G & G Outfitters. The moms had me make these shirts for the boys to wear to their first Bow Hunters Banquet this weekend :0)

Let it Snow Mirror

It was time to take the Valentine's message off the mirror. I debated between this saying and a spring theme. I chose this seeing as it is only February and around here that means more winter to come, even though it had been 40's and 50's the last few days. Woke up this morning to cold, windy and snowy...........

just a note-this is clear contact paper, not glass etch vinyl. It removes much easier than the vinyl :0)

My sweet husband also set me up with a dual screen for my laptop. Now I can be working on one screen and chatting or surfing the web on the other. (He is an enabler lol) Ain't technology grand???!!!!
