wordbook design video

I attempted another video. This one explains how I make my wordbooks in design studio. I know I zoomed in a little too close, you can't see the tool bar on the left and the size property box at the top. Hopefully you are already familiar with these so it won't matter too much. I'll try to improve-thanks for your patience with my video technique!!!!!

You can download the trial version for free. It lets you cut with the cartridge that came with your machine. (either george or plantin)

What an easy-to-follow video! Are you a professional teacher or do you just have the knack? I am going to try this! Thank you for sharing your talent! Carolyn in Nebraska

Denise, I successfully cut out a word book with granddaughter's name following your directions. But...I realized I have no idea of the best way to embellish it. I just used cardstock to see if it would work, and it did, but flimsy of course. So...a few questions: Can you cut chipboard with Design Studio? If so, how? Do you then cut out patterned paper? And how do you best attach the patterned paper to the chipboard? Thanks...Carolyn in Nebraska

Yes, you can cut chipboard. Just place it on your mat like paper and use blade depth 6 and heavy presure. You may need to set it to multi-cut depending on the thickness of your chipboard. I just use cereal boxes. You may want to tape your edges to the mat with painters tape to make sure the chipboard doesn't move around. I only cut the first and last page of chipboard. I then cut a front and a back for each page-so each page has 3 layers. If you use patterned paper make sure you put one piece patterned side face down on your mat for the backside of your page. I use a glue called Fabri-tac. Walmart and michaels both have it. I run a bead around the edge of the page and put a few squiggles through the middle, lay the patterned pperon top, slide it around alittle to spread the glue to the edge, then line up my edges. Hope I answered your questions. Feel fre to ask more. I would love to see your book when it is done!

Ok, don't try to answer someone until AFTER you've had a cup of coffee!!!!!!
it should say "lay the patterned paper on top, slide it around a little to spread the glue to the edge.
and feel free not fre!!!!
Sorry, it was early!
